Since malpractice coverage is key in helping physicians provide consultations through American Well™, we have engaged Lexington Insurance Company (a member company of American International Group, Inc.), a leading medical malpractice carrier, to provide participating physicians with malpractice coverage as part of the American Well service.
Through this insurance, participating physicians are covered for malpractice claims related to consultations utilizing HMSA's Online Care through the American Well platform (the "Online Care Consultations"), regardless of the number of Online Care Consultations performed. Additionally, this coverage is independent of participating physicians' existing malpractice insurance.
