Who is the Online Care Group?
The Online Care Group is a physician owned and operated medical practice that provides telehealth care exclusively on American Well platforms. At this time, we utilize primarily Board Certified Pediatricians and Family, Emergency, and Internal Medicine physicians to provide acute care via telehealth. We practice across 48 states, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
In addition to our medical practice, the Online Care Group also manages a nationwide Behavioral Health practice (staffed by PhDs, Psy.Ds and LCSWs) as well as a Nutrition practice (staffed by Registered Dieticians) and a Breastfeeding Support practice. Our providers are both single- and multi-state licensed and credentialed to work across the country.
How does scheduling work and how many hours are expected?
Online Care Group offers multiple ways for you to practice telehealth, from commitment-free options to scheduled shifts. Depending on your availability, you can join as an associate physician and work on your schedule, or you can work in a part-time to full-time role scheduling shifts in 2 hour blocks. A recruiter can talk to you more about the ways you can practice with us.
How are patients directed to the system?
Patients access our providers directly through American Well’s platforms or through a health system, employer or insurance company that is contracted with Online Care Group. All billing and payment from patients is managed by our administrative team and is not the responsibility of the provider.
What type of computer or mobile device do I need in order to practice?
You can practice using a desktop or laptop computer equipped with a web camera and microphone and an internet connection, or an iOS (Apple) mobile device such as an iPad or iPhone.
What resources are available to Online Care Group physicians?
You’ll have 24/7 support through our Network Operations Center (NOC). The NOC team can assist with anything from technology questions to assisting with scheduling.
You’ll also have access to the Provider Community Portal, where you can message in real time with the NOC as well as access clinical documents and policies, have discussions with other providers and get access to industry and company news.
