Boston, MA — August 23, 2010American Well™ Inc., today announced that James C. Malone will join the company as executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective September 13, 2010. Malone will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s financial strategy, and all finance and accounting functions.

“Jim is a highly experienced executive with a proven track record of delivering value to companies experiencing unprecedented growth and transformation,” said Ido Schoenberg, MD, chairman and chief executive officer of American Well Inc. “Jim’s expertise, poise and knowledge of the healthcare technology market marks a strong addition to American Well’s leadership team and will be important to us as we move forward in realizing our vision of bringing healthcare to people’s homes.”

Malone has more than 35 years of financial leadership experience, having held the CFO position at several global healthcare companies. Prior to American Well, Malone was the CFO at Misys plc., (FTSE: MSY.L), a global software and solutions company. Before Misys, Malone was CFO at The TriZetto Group, the leader in information technology for the health insurance payer community, while it was publically traded on the NASDAQ. Prior to TriZetto, he was CFO and CAO at IMS Health, a leading healthcare and pharmaceutical information provider, while it was publically traded on the NYSE.
